Project Description

Project Title: FlowerMall for Florist Co.
Project Group: America's Most Popular
Group Member: Naiyu Zhang, Dan Wang, Jun Qi, James Zhang

Project Objective: This project is to create a web-based application - a virtual
shopping mall. To limit the scale of the project, the shopping mall
will consist of three storefronts. They are a bakery selling cakes,
a toy store selling dolls, and a greenhouse selling flowers.

Customers are expected to order the products via the web site.
The mall receives the order information via the Internet and
stores it in a database.

Credit checking for shopping usually involves a third party. Since
the mall is a mock-up, the credit checking as well as account
processing and data transfer to manufacturers will not be
involved in this project.

Target Audience: A shopping mall is expected to attract various customers. As for
this shopping mall, its target is mainly composed of gift seekers.

The typical customer is female in her 20s to 30s. Others include
cake lovers, parents, doll collectors, and lovers.

Site Information: Product prices, shape and look, availability, variety.
Coupons, promotions and other discounts.
Customer account and buying information.
FlowerMall and Forist.Com general information.
Network trade security information, disclaimer, customer service.
Web Architecture: Pages of different storefronts will be linked in a networked style,
with the front page and cart pages as the hubs.
Tools Involved: InterDev for ASP pages.
IIS Server.
MS Access for Database.
HTML editors (Notepad, FrontPage 98)
Browsers available for testing (Mac and PC version)
Responsibilities: Naiyu Zhang: Project Management, GUI Design, ASP Coding.
Dan Wang: Server Setup, ODBC setup, ASP Coding.
